Automotive Maintenance
Automobiles today are a sophisticated, computer-controlled machine that require less care and are more dependable than past models. To keep your car running efficiently, regularly scheduled maintenance is key to reliable performance and assure savings in the future. Disregarding regular maintenance will shorten the life of your vehicle and may void its warranty. We recommend a five-point preventive maintenance program to keep your car running smoothly:
Oil Change
Today’s engines will run better and last longer with clean oil every 3,000 miles or three months, including a filter change. An oil change can save you from costly engine repairs later.
Brake Service
An unusual noise or a shaky steering wheel when stopping are warning signs that it’s time to check the brakes. A good rule of thumb is to check the brakes at the 5,000- to 6,500-mile mark when tires should be rotated.
Cooling System Service
Thoroughly flush coolant systems and replace with the antifreeze at least every year to minimize metal deterioration and to keep the system flowing efficiently. Be sure to use the correct water to coolant mix. Check the coolant reservoir every month (windshield washer reservoir, too) and keep topped off .
Battery / Alternator
As part of your car’s regular maintenance, ask us to make sure the battery cover is in place and the battery is firmly anchored. Keep the battery clean of corrosion, especially the electrical posts and cable contacts. We check proper charging of the system.
Check-Engine Light
The check-engine light on your dashboard is your car’s early warning system that something is wrong. It could be as simple as a spark plug wire, or a serious warning of a mechanical failure. Give us a call and get your car to one of our ASE-certified technicians as soon as possible to diagnose and fix the problem.
Exhaust System
We check Manifold gaskets, Catalytic converters, all pipe routing, hangers and mufflers to ensure no leakage or clogging.
